Sample Itinerary
Day 1 : Marina Costa Baja → Ensenada Grande
Distance: 26 nautical miles
Duration: Approximately 4 hours
Kick off your adventure by sailing to Ensenada Grande, a dreamy anchorage with dazzling turquoise waters, dramatic rocky cliffs, and powdery white sand beaches. Once anchored, take your pick—hike the rugged terrain, lounge-like royalty on the shore, or dive into the crystal-clear waters for some epic snorkeling along the rocky coastline.
Day 2 : Ensenada Grande → Isla Partida
Distance: 2 nautical miles
Duration: Approximately 25 minutes
A hop, skip, and a short sail away, Isla Partida is one of Baja’s breathtaking UNESCO-protected islands. Separated from Isla Espiritu Santo by a slim blue channel, you might even be able to wade across if the tide plays nice. Ensenada Grande—hailed as one of Mexico’s most stunning beaches—awaits with its Tiffany-blue waters, sculpted rock formations, and (if you're lucky) homemade fish tacos. Paddleboard along the coast, swim in the jewel-toned sea, or pay a visit to the resident blue-footed boobies. Divers will be in heaven exploring the marine-rich depths, but even from the surface, expect surprise visits from playful sea lions, pods of dolphins, and maybe even a humpback whale or two if you're here in winter.
Day 3 : Isla Partida → Isla San Francisco
Distance: 18 nautical miles
Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours
Set sail for Isla San Francisco, a tiny, uninhabited gem floating off the coast of Baja. Its sheltered waters and striking landscapes make it the perfect anchorage for adventurers and beach bums alike. Hike along the ridgeline for jaw-dropping views, snorkel in the ridiculously clear blue sea, or kayak along the craggy coastline. Keep an eye out for the island’s reptilian locals, who might pop up to say hello.
Day 4 : Isla San Francisco → Bahia Amortajada
Distance: 3 nautical miles
Duration: Approximately 35 minutes
Glide down to Bahia Amortajada, where a dreamy mangrove-lined lagoon and tranquil sandy spit await. It’s the perfect spot for some serious R&R—swim, snorkel, or kayak through the mangroves while egrets and pelicans strut their stuff. If fishing’s your thing, cast a line and see what bites. With its calm, glistening waters and simple pleasures, this bay is all about slowing down and soaking up the magic of the moment.
Day 5 : Bahia Amortajada → Isla Espiritu Santo
Distance: 30 nautical miles
Duration: Approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes
Sailing into Isla Espiritu Santo feels like stepping into another world. Think soft pink and chocolate-hued rock formations, whispering waves, and a coastline alive with curious sea lions, frolicking dolphins, and the ever-iconic blue-footed boobies. A UNESCO biosphere reserve, this island is a playground for nature lovers—snorkel, dive, kayak, or bask in the beauty of Mexico’s wild, untouched paradise.
Day 6 : Isla Espiritu Santo → Los Islotes
Distance: 12 nautical miles
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Los Islotes might not have the classic white sand beaches, but what it lacks in shoreline, it more than makes up for in sheer wildlife magic. This rocky outcrop is the place to mingle with Baja’s resident sea lions—cheeky, whiskered, and always ready to play. Jump in for a snorkel, and expect some fun and games as these "puppies of the sea" zip and zoom around you. If you can tear your eyes away from the sea lions, there’s plenty more to see—dazzling schools of fish, graceful rays, and maybe even a passing whale.
Day 7 : Los Islotes → Marina Costa Baja
Distance: 25 nautical miles
Duration: Approximately 4 hours
It's time to sail back to reality—but not before one last adventure. Explore Colonia Pichilingue, take in the views from Cerro de La Calavera, stroll along Malecon La Paz, and, of course, indulge in some mouthwatering tacos on the beach because no trip to Mexico is complete without tacos.
